From September 1956 to December 1960 the Waconia Patriot Newspaper published aerial photographs each week of farms around Carver County. Residents would contact the newspaper for the chance to be the first to identify the farm. The following week the newspaper ran the aerial photo along with information about the farm family.
These “Mystery Farm” articles published over 60 years ago in the Waconia Patriot contain a wealth of information about Carver County’s rural heritage. Many of the farms have disappeared but their stories have been preserved in these treasured “Mystery Farm” articles.
